Ms. Bonnefin is a principal of Aldrich & Bonnefin, P.L.C. She has been associated with the firm since inception, specializing in consumer lending and regulation, compliance management, Community Reinvestment Act, retail banking matters and new product development. Ms. Bonnefin manages the firm’s innovative legal service of Bankers’ Compliance Group®.

Ms. Bonnefin advises clients on a variety of regulatory compliance matters, including the development of documentation and disclosure for consumer loan programs such as mortgage loans, home equity loans and home equity lines of credit, adjustable rate mortgages, credit cards and overdraft lines of credit. In addition, she advises clients in connection with compliance, CRA and fair lending examinations.

Ms. Bonnefin attended California State University at Long Beach, graduating in 1979 with a B.A. in political science, and then obtained her Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1982.

Ms. Bonnefin was voted a 2006 “Super Lawyer” in the banking and finance category by a general survey which was conducted and published by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazines.

In 2004, Ms. Bonnefin received the Robert Frandzel Award from the California Bankers Association for “superior and noteworthy” legal assistance by an outside counsel to the California banking industry.

Ms. Bonnefin is a regular speaker for Bankers’ Compliance Group® on a variety of topics, including compliance management, consumer lending and regulatory compliance, and the Community Reinvestment Act. She also speaks for the California Bankers Association and American Bankers Association on such subjects as RESPA, mortgage lending, fair lending, compliance management and the Community Reinvestment Act.

Ms. Bonnefin is an instructor for the American Bankers Association’s National Compliance School, lecturing on the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Ms. Bonnefin is a member of the CBA Regulatory Compliance Committee. She is also a member of the California Orange County Bar Association (financial practices section). Also, she formerly served on the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California.
